What is the TUKS Consumer Database?

Persons registered on this database receive invitations to participate in research studies about products (mainly food but other things as well) that play a role in the lives of consumers. The studies are conducted by researchers and students linked to the University of Pretoria and its affiliate, Enterprises University of Pretoria. All studies are evaluated and approved by the relevant ethics committees of the University of Pretoria and are conducted in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA Act) https://popia.co.za/act/.

How do I join the TUKS Consumer Database?

Joining the TUKS Consumer Database is easy! Just follow these 3 steps…

    All information that you provide will be kept strictly confidential and will not be shared with any third party. The information is only accessible to university staff members with appropriate permissions.
  2. Check your email
    You will receive an email with a link to click and confirm your application.
  3. You will receive invitations by email to participate in studies.

Joining the database and participation in any research study is voluntary. You decide whether or not to participate. You can choose to remove yourself (unsubscribe) from the database.

The information that you provide during registration is used to screen and select invitees for specific studies. For example, for some studies we need participants that are within a specific age range.
